email scams, jokes, frauds, etc.
I got another one of those emails today forwarded on by a good friend who had gotten it from a good friend who had gotten it from a good friend....who had supposedly heard it from someone who had seen it on the news and in a two-page article in USA Today...Forward the email and you'll get lots of money from Bill Gates!
Augghhhh, please! People are so gullible...and I believe they actually think this is going to happen, and what does it hurt to forward along to everyone they know or at least a few of their good friends?
What does it hurt? How about cluttering up email servers with useless crap? What about generating unnecessary traffic on the internet? I know there is plenty of bandwidth but hey, why don't we use it for something useful!?
How about the one with the little girl that was lost in Wal-Mart or the little girl that is dying from some rare form of cancer...all of these prey on our sympathies and some of them go straight to the heart.
Here is my wish: please, when you get one of these emails, before you blindly send it along, check out ScamBusters or Snopes.
Thanks.
